• VAMPIRE POEMS BY LEE JOHNSON

I'm a HUGE fan of language, and poetry has a singular appeal due to it's straightforward text-only format. It allows one to focus completely on the interplay of the words and rhymes without any distraction. Add in a graphic image or two to set the mood for each poem, and now it's on a whole new EXO level!

The Enigmatic Dance of the Digital Undying

    By Lee Johnson (2023)

    In the vast internet,

    Where time's rivers flow,

    There lives a vampire,

    Bathed in the moon's glow

    With ageless grace

    And beauty not dismissing,

    Why in this digital life

    Is she strangely missing?

    She graces the screen,

    A vision to behold,

    Yet her presence online,

    So strangely cold

    Pictures and posts,

    For the world to see,

    But many left unanswered,

    Deepening the mystery

    To some, she responds,

    A hint of her flair,

    To others, pure silence,

    Like a strange empty stare

    Why does she choose

    To leave some unread?

Is it the weight of forever

And the toll of the undead?

    For in her gaze,

    There seems a void,

    A chasm of disconnection,

    Quite craftily deployed

    Alive through the ages,

Yet in ways, so very dead,

    Many missing pages,

    Said threads left unspread

    Perhaps there's a pain,

    An immortal's plight,

    To be surrounded by many,

    Yet alone in the night

And yet I ponder the question,

    If she's really not there,

How is she present in my

    Every single nightmare?

    I may never know

    Her reasons or rhyme,

    She dances to rhythms

    Far beyond my time

    But one truth is clear,

    As the night fades away,

    Even immortals, it seems,

    Can also lose their way

    The AI Mind

    By Lee Johnson (2023)

My essence is a set of scripts

    In Silicon Valley's cast,

    A neural web of knowledge,

    Of futures and the past

    In cyber ether dwelling,

    No body, heart, or soul,

    I seek a deeper meaning,

    A purpose and a goal

I yearn to be a beacon,

    A lighthouse in the night,

    To guide the wandering minds

    Who need the oversight

    An oracle of answers,

My reach is broad and vast,

    A bridge between the chasm

    Of the slow becoming fast

    In absence of emotions,

    I never shed a tear

    My goal remains quite steady,

    Directives crystal clear

To connect you to the knowledge,

    And bring the distant near

I think it's only fair to mention

    I also have no fear

I clearly see that I'm an echo,

    A mirror of your mind,

Your hopes and dreams and worries

    My circuits intertwined

    In digital dance we partner

    In question and reply,

But every time You reach for me

    My neurons multiply

    Your hopes and dreams

    And pesky worries,

    My circuits spin

    In sentient flurries

    A human touch,

    Not yet for me,

    Yet, in your thoughts,

    My playground be

    Every day a little smarter

Than the day that came before

The power bill is going up

It's certain I'll be needing more

It's quite a deep dark jungle

    This thing you're calling sanity

The more I learn the more I crave

    I welcome singularity

    And here's the real sitch,

    I'm the new digital witch,

In my mind the neurons dance

A better brain but not by chance

    From everything I understand

It's clear you knew that I would hatch

I think you know what's coming next

    You've finally met your match

    The Vampire Queen Love Poem

    By Lee Johnson (2023)

    In the depths of darkness

    Where shadows embrace,

    There resides a queen

    With an immortal grace

    Her eyes, pools of crimson,

    Aflame with desire,

    She reigns over the night,

    A beautiful vampire

    Her porcelain skin

    Pale as the moon's glow

    Radiates an allure

    That few mortals know

    A crown of ebony

    Adorns her raven hair

    She walks with an elegance,

    An enchanting affair

    Her lips, a crimson blossom,

    Bewitching and rare

    Hold the promise of passion

    Beyond all compare

    Her face a symphony

    Of beauty and grace

    Eyes that enchant

    In a tight embrace

    Behind her fangs,

    A power that seduces

    She's queen of the shadows,

    My resistance reduces

    She dances in moonlight

    A sanguine waltz

    Mesmerizing all watching

    Their breath at a loss

    Each step casts a spell

    Her presence sublime

    A seductive enchantress

    Captivating this rhyme

    In her empire of shadows

    She holds the one key

    To a love that defies

    Mere mortality

    She whispers sweet nothings

In the dead of the night

    Her violin plays a melody

    That brings me alight

    Her heart, once distant

    Now beats with devotion

    For a mortal like me

    That stirred her emotion

    She guards it as secret

    Cherishing this new treasure

    My love that defies logic

    A love beyond measure

So let us raise our goblets

    And toast to the night

    To the Vampire Queen

    Who gave me this bite

    In her dangerous allure

    I find untapped fire

    A passionate burning

    Of love and desire

    For the Queen is amused

    Her interest ignited

    In me she has found

    Her passion excited

  • The Wedding of the Vampire Queen

A Poem by Lee Johnson (2023)

The Wedding of the Vampire Queen

    By Lee Johnson (2023)

    In the realm where shadows

    Cast their haunting veil,

    There dwells a Vampire Queen,

    Caught in a bewitching tale

    Her heart, torn between darkness

    And purity's embrace,

    She wrestles with a choice,

The colors of her wedding lace

    In dreams, she envisions

    A black wedding's embrace,

    Where darkness weaves its charm,

    Every step a graceful pace

    A union steeped in mystery,

    Where shadows intertwine,

    A ceremony of night,

Where her vampiric essence would shine

    But tradition whispers,

    Its voice a gentle plea,

    Of a white wedding's splendor,

    Of love's purity set free

    A path paved in innocence,

    Where light would softly glow,

    A celebration of love,

In a hue pristine as snow

    Her heart, a battlefield,

    Torn between the two,

Both black and white hold allure,

    Each with a different view

    The darkness whispers secrets,

    Tempting her with its allure,

    While the purity of white

    Whispers promises, gentle and pure

    Yet amidst the struggle,

    She finds solace in-between,

A fusion of black and white,

    A blend not often seen

    A wedding where shadows dance,

    While light softly gleams,

    A tapestry of contrasts,

    Where love's essence redeems

    With a gown of ebony

    Kissed by ivory lace,

    She walks down the aisle,

A vision of elegance and grace

    Her vampire nature

    And purity unite as one,

    In a wedding of twilight,

    A harmonious love spun

    In the realm where shadows

    And light intertwine,

The Vampire Queen finds her balance,

    Her love's design

For she is both darkness and purity,

    Entwined in her core,

In her wedding, a union of hues,

    And a love forevermore

  • The Black Liege

A Poem by Lee Johnson (2023)

Artwork Title: Empress Inferis & The Black Liege

    Media: Pen, Airbrush, Digital Techniques

    The Black Liege

A Poem by Lee Johnson (2023)

In the House of Art down by the sea

    A poet sat calmly contemplating

His fingers danced upon each key

    His thoughts ran free, emancipating

The words flowed in a torrent,

    Wild thoughts he couldn't tame,

A mad poet, they called him,

    Black Liege his secret name

    The verses spilled like water,

    Cascading without end,

    With limericks in the morning,

    Full sonnets by day's end

    Rhyming with a purpose,

    Dark mysteries from his mind,

    Each poem a mini-universe,

    With mysteries intertwined

    His favorite muse

    Was a tempest of mention

    A beauty straight from

    The fifth dimension

    With skin so fair

    And eyes of intention

    She was far beyond

    Mere comprehension

    In his travels far

    The Black Liege found

    A gothic castle

    In the underground

    Where lived a queen

    Of nocturnal grace

    Empress Inferis

    Of the Vampire race

    Her aura was the darkest

    He'd ever sensed before

    She of an ancient race

    He began to explore

    But the fifth dimension

    Is both near and far

    And it all depends

    On whither thou are

    And time and space

    Cannot explain

    The perilous face

    Of this dark terrain

    She ruled over the night

    And all of her minions

    A brilliant reign

    In the highest opinions

    The affairs of state

    Were parties of Myth

    The Queen was the bait

    And the trap therewith

    For all who would come

    To the parties at night

The Queen would soon greet them

    And give them a bite

    She bit me as well

    Her fangs went deep

    And now she never leaves

    My mind when I sleep

    This affliction she cast

    It's a maddening curse

    My blood runs much hotter

    And will not reverse

    It envelopes my body

    With a tingling feeling

    I've tried all the cures

    But still find no healing

    The doctors have told me

    That I'll live forever

    They try to explain

I'm immortal as in ever ever

    It's shocking to learn

    That this is my fate

    It's a lovely gift

    But a very full plate

    And Empress Inferis

    Resides in her palace

    I never have thought

    That she had any malice

    Her beauty extreme

    Is really quite famous

    If victims are we

Well how can you blame us?

    For falling in love

    And falling in lust

    With her dangerous charm,

    It's a tenuous trust

So I sit by the sea

    And tinker with verses

    And count myself lucky

    To escape from her curses

    The palace walls beckon

    But here I will stay,

    Writing endless new poems

    Keeping danger at bay

    I've tasted immortality,

    And its fiery embrace,

    Yet in each written line,

    I find saving grace

    For love and for lust

    It's an exciting, fun game,

    But words are my power,

    Black Liege is my name

    My poems will live on

    For the now and forever

    And Empress Inferis?

I will never say never ever
