  • A New Poem for Barb

    Glitter Sister #1

    By Susan Cole

    Barbie Coleman...Shiny, strong, artist musician

Glitter Sister queen, maybe a magician

Energy, style, intellect and that smile....

Red lips, slim hips, always ready

    With wine and chips

She could walk into a room

    And all eyes would zoom

    To see this fashionable chick

    We all raise our glasses...

    You can hear the click

And also the latest track on AudioSparx....true facts!

Late at night making playlist and graphs

Wearing high-heeled boots, and black slacks

So talented in so many genres

But her big heart gets all the honors.

    Barbie you loved to travel

And now you're on your way

With the stars... beyond the sun

    Amen, Glitter Sister #1

    The Iconic Barbara Coleman

    The Iconic Barbara Coleman

Lord knows she had soul, man

In the heart of D.C., a light shone bright

Barbara Coleman, a beacon in the night

With a palette as diverse as her beats

Her life, a canvas of extraordinary feats

From Texas roots to the world's grand stage

She danced through life, defying age

Her brushstrokes bold, her rhythm tight

In art and music, this girl took flight

A queen of style, a muse of sound

It was plain to see she was totally unbound

A DJ with a heart that spun pure gold

In every playlist, another bold story told

From Houston's hustle to D.C.'s streets

Her life a symphony of eclectic beats

With acrylics and collages, she set trends

In her melodies, a message she sends

In the corridors of embassies, her art resides

    Across continents, her spirit glides

A foreign service life, adventure in her eyes

In every city, her spirit flies

    A designer, a collector, a visionary true

In her vibrant home, cultures brew

From Indo-Chinese art to African grace

Each piece in her collection found its place

Her legacy, a tapestry so rare

In every note, a love affair

With music, art, and life's embrace

She left this world a more beautiful place

So here's to Barbie, DJ supreme

In the halls of art, not just a dream

    A life well-lived, a journey grand

In the beat of my heart, she'll forever stand

Lord knows she had soul, man

  • LIFE BEYOND DEATH

Where does the soul go when we die? Do we wander the earth as a ghost? Do we travel the cosmos as a form of energy? Or perhaps we go to heaven, or hell, or someplace else? These are difficult questions with no certain answers.

Personally, I believe the story does not end at death. Nay, we live on in the minds and the hearts of our dear friends and family. Our continuing presence may be felt the world over for months, years, or even -- perhaps for Barbara -- millennia.

For Barbara Coleman (aka DJ Barbie), the energy she poured into creating hundreds of music stations at RadioSparx.com over the last 10 years will live forever, providing amusement and entertainment to millions upon millions of listeners each month, in over 100 countries around the world. It's an amazing musical legacy befitting the amazing person that Barbara was throughout her life. She quite literally brought music to life, for the entire world!

And while she has physically departed our castle, her spirit shall never leave, and she will be with us forever, in our keep. Long Live Barbara!! We love and miss you beyond words.
